E-mail Clients

This guide will help you to set up an e-mail client (Outlook, Apple Mail etc.) to work with your SSE Riga e-mail account. (source)

Note: before you set up your e-mail client, make sure that you have enabled IMAP for your SSE Riga e-mail account.

Here are useful step-by-step guidelines for adding SSE Riga e-mail account in:

Settings for IMAP setup:

User and logon information:

  • User name/e-mail: NSurname@sseriga.edu (use full email address as username)
  • Password: Your SSE Riga account password

Incoming mail server:

  • Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
  • Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): yes
  • Server port: 993
  • In Apple Mail, for Incoming mail authentication select Password

Outgoing mail server:

  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com
  • Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): yes
  • Server port: 465

Outgoing server authentication:

  • in Outlook tick My outgoing server requires authentication and choose Use same settings as incoming mail server
  • in Apple Mail check Use Authentication and enter User Name and Password as shown in user and logon information
